Listing Readiness Checker: methodology and result interpretation

Executive summary

The Listing Readiness Checker is a browser-based preparation checklist for a marketplace listing. It reviews 10 areas, applies a fixed weight to each completed item, and returns a score from 0 to 100 with one of three results: Ready, Needs work, or Not ready.

The result is a first-pass preparation signal. It is not marketplace approval, a compliance decision, or a promise that a listing will be accepted or perform well. Always complete a final manual check against the target marketplace's current official rules before publishing.

Applicability

This documentation describes the current Dokuntag Publish web Tool as reviewed against repository package version 1.0.0 on 2026-07-20. Review it again whenever the Tool registry, checklist rules, calculation service, result copy, or interface changes.

The Tool is available in English and Turkish:

It runs in the browser and does not publish or upload listing data.

Before you begin

Choose one specific listing and its target marketplace. Have the current title, images, description, price assumptions, shipping details, stock record, and applicable official platform rules available. The Tool asks whether preparation work is complete; it does not retrieve or inspect those materials for you.

What the checker evaluates

Mark an item only after you have checked it for the listing you plan to publish. The weights total 100.

Main image	14	The main image is clear, product-focused, and large enough for marketplace preparation.
Extra images	8	Relevant angles, details, scale, packaging, or usage images are prepared.
Description	12	Features, use, material, size, and important buyer details are explained clearly.
Keywords	8	Important terms appear naturally without excessive repetition.
Price and margin	10	Product cost, platform costs, shipping impact, and expected margin were reviewed.
Shipping	8	Handling time, method, package size, and delivery expectations are prepared.
Stock	8	Quantity, variants, and fulfillment readiness were reviewed.
Platform rules	12	The final listing was checked against the target platform's current official rules.
Risky claims	6	The listing avoids approval guarantees, medical claims, legal or tax promises, and unsupported outcome claims.

These checks measure declared preparation. The Tool does not inspect a marketplace account or independently verify the files and statements behind a checked box.

How the score is calculated

The Tool adds the weights of the checked items and divides the result by the total available weight. Because the current weights total 100, the displayed score directly reflects the checked weight.

Five checks are treated as high-impact because each has a weight of at least 10:

product title;
main image;
description;
price and margin;
platform rules.

An unchecked high-impact item appears in the High-impact missing items result.

How result levels work

Result	Current rule	How to act on it
Ready	Score is at least 82 and no high-impact item is missing.	Perform the final marketplace-specific manual review.
Needs work	Score is at least 55 but the Ready rule is not met.	Complete missing high-impact work before publishing.
Not ready	Score is below 55.	Start with the title, main image, description, price, and current platform rules.

A score of 82 or more is not enough by itself. If even one high-impact item is unchecked, the result cannot be Ready.

Step-by-step use

Open the Tool in the language you intend to use.
Choose one specific product, marketplace, and listing version. Do not combine several draft listings in one check.
Review each statement against your actual files, data, and current platform rules.
Mark only the statements you can confirm.
Read the score, result level, high-impact missing items, and suggested next steps together.
Complete the missing work, then run the checklist again.
Before publishing, review the listing inside the marketplace and confirm any current category, account, country, or policy requirements.

The Mark all control is useful for interface testing, but it does not verify that the underlying listing work is complete.

Common mistakes

Treating the score as approval

The Tool does not communicate with a marketplace and cannot approve a listing. A Ready result means only that the current checklist conditions were marked complete.

Checking an item from memory

Review the current listing artifact or source record before checking a box. A title or price that was correct for an earlier version may no longer match the listing under review.

Ignoring the high-impact list

The total score and missing-item list answer different questions. The score summarizes completed weight; the list identifies unchecked areas that block a Ready result.

Using one platform's rules for another

The checklist is platform-neutral. Exact limits and policies remain with the target marketplace's current official documentation and the relevant Dokuntag knowledge page.

Important limitations

The Tool evaluates 10 fixed preparation statements; it does not inspect listing text, image files, account settings, inventory systems, or marketplace policy pages.
It does not test category eligibility, legal compliance, tax treatment, intellectual-property rights, restricted products, or account standing.
It does not predict approval, ranking, traffic, conversion, sales, or profitability.
A high score cannot compensate for inaccurate product data or a current platform-rule violation.
The checklist can change in a later release. Recheck this documentation after a relevant release.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Check
A high score still shows Needs work	Look for an unchecked high-impact item. Ready requires both the score threshold and no high-impact omissions.
The score does not change as expected	Clear the checklist, mark the intended items again, and confirm that each selection remains checked.
You do not know whether an item is complete	Open the relevant canonical Answer, Resource, or official platform rule before marking it.
The Tool wording and this page differ	Stop using this page as current documentation and send both versions to Support for review.
